How far will you travel?
We are happy to travel anywhere in England and Wales. We live in a small village, not far from Cheltenham. From here it’s easy to travel much of the country within 2 hours. All of our travel costs are included in our packages for weddings within 100 miles of our studio. For weddings further from home we charge an additional £150 for travel expenses and one nights accommodation.

How long do you stay at the wedding?
Every wedding is unique, and we don’t work to a rigid timetable. We want you to enjoy your day, without watching the clock. Our coverage usually starts an hour before the ceremony, and depending upon which package you have chosen, we’ll be with you for the speeches, or the first dance.

Do we really get to keep all the photographs you take?
Yes! We photograph the day as it happens, catching all the little moments that are part of the day. That way we can truly capture the spirit of the celebration. You will get a minimum of 200 photographs. All the photographs are 7.5 x 5 inches and  ready for display either in an album or a frame.

It sounds like you take a lot of photographs, do we need that many?
You can never have too many photographs! Most couples want as many photographs as possible to remember the day by. However, before your wedding, we go over the coverage you want in more detail, talk about any 'must have' photos you want us to take. This way we can be sure we’re taking the photographs you want. Because we don’t work to a limited number of photographs we can  take photographs as needed to capture all the highlights of the day. In our experience a minimum of 200 photographs is the number of photographs that need to be taken at most weddings, without comprising the coverage.

When do we get our photographs?

Printing and processing usually takes about 3 weeks, so you should have your photographs shortly after you return from honeymoon.

How long does it take to put together an album?
Firstly, once you’ve had your photographs you’ll need to choose your favourites to include in the album. Sometimes this can be very hard! Once you’ve approved the layout it takes between 2 and 4 weeks. The Jorgensen albums are made to our specification and Jill’s design in Australia, while Graphisstudio come from Italy. Your photographs will become a prized possession, and they deserve the very best presentation. With Jill’s flair for producing visually stunning concepts, your album will be unique, and a creative work of art.

Will having two photographers be too much? We don’t want to spend the whole day with fixed grins, posing for the camera?
Having two photographers means a lot less stress for a lot of reasons. Some photographers like to take charge and control everything. That’s not how we work. Our approach is very low key. Most of the time you won’t even know we’re around. Although we’re very discreet, with the experience we have, we can get the photographs you’ll want. Having two photographers really helps to keep things moving on, such as when we’re taking some informal portraits, or group photographs. Another bonus is that you’ll get a variety of photographs, from different angles, places and times.

Will you take some formal  as well as candid photographs, if we want?
Yes. Although most of our coverage will be reportage photography, we can include a selection of traditional photographs for you as well. We try to take these as quickly as possible, and our advice is that you should keep the choice of any groups to as small as number as possible. As a rough guide each formal group will take about 5 minutes to call together, arrange, and photograph, so bear this in mind when planning your day ( your ushers can help in getting everyone together)  In most cases about four formal group photographs with both sets of parents, bridesmaids, and ushers will capture the main wedding party guests. If you have too many formal groups they will become tedious and tiresome for everyone, and can take over the day.

How much time should we allow for photographs?
Most of our coverage will be reportage photography of the events as they happen, so for example, you don’t need to worry about us when you’re getting ready, during the ceremony or the speeches. The most important timings are between the end of your ceremony, the start of your drinks reception and the time you will be sitting down for your reception and it’s best to give this some thought before settling on times. We want you to be relaxed, have plenty of time to mingle with your guests, and most importantly have fun on your day. Schedules that are too tight don’t allow for this. The most important session of the day we need to allow time for is with the bride and groom.  You may be surprised that generally we would ask to take you aside from your wedding party and guests, for no more than 30 minutes. This will give you time to relax , and for us to take a variety of photographs, perhaps using different settings at your venue, with you. You have spent a lot time choosing your outfits, the locations, and will be looking your best, and we don’t want to rush this part of the day.  For  other photographs, we suggest you allow about 20 minutes for formal photographs with your parents, bridesmaids and ushers. Lastly, one of the things we hear most frequently is that “the day has gone by so fast”, so we think you should give yourselves plenty of time to mingle with your guests.  Of course this will vary from wedding to wedding with guest numbers, but our advice is to build in at least 30 minutes for this, and 45 minutes if at all possible. During this time we’ll do our best to be invisible, and catch those special moments amongst your guests. This all adds up to about 1 and half hours your drinks reception , which we feel is the least amount of time to allow, whilst 2 hours is great if your other timings allow. We will go through the timings of your day with you, and we are always happy to help and give you advice, and  liase with your venues and caterers if you want.

What happens if it rains?
As professional photographers we’re used to working in a variety of conditions. Weddings are popular throughout the year, and every season has a different challenge.  Sometimes the weather isn’t kind, and we have to work inside. However, it’s very rare for it to rain all day long, and because we’re with you throughout the day, we can dodge the showers and go outside and take some portraits for you. Whatever happens, we won’t let the weather dampen our spirits, and whatever the weather you’ll get the same professional level of service.

What preparations do you make before the wedding? Do you just turn up on the day and start taking photographs or is there more to it than that?
We're happy to help with lots of advice and tips to help you have the wedding of your dreams. We check out the venues before the day, not only just to check out the precise location, but also from a photographic point of view.  We can also check out any other locations that might be considered, beaches and beauty spots for example. We include this pre-wedding consultation as part of our service, no matter where in the UK you are getting married.

What do you do about eating on the day?

We ask that a hot meal is provided for us on the day. We take this at the same time as you and your guests sit down to wedding breakfast so as not to interrupt the flow of the coverage. Usually, the simplest option for your caterers is for us to have the same choice as your guests from the wedding breakfast menu, in which case we ask you to include us in your guest numbers given to the caterers.
